Delonghi Dehumidifier Reviews and Best Models
Delonghi Logo

Delonghi dehumidifiers are a popular option in the UK. The company's models are often mid-range with good extraction rates and provide great value for money.

There isn't a Delonghi model on our list of the top 10 dehumidifiers, but that doesn't mean they don't produce some excellent machines. Listed below are the four best Delonghi dehumidifiers at the time of writing. These machines all provide great value for money and have been highly rated by buyers.

Which are the Best Delonghi Dehumidifiers?

Delonghi DEM10

Delonghi DEM10 Dehumidifier

The DEM10 is one of Delonghi's most popular dehumidifiers. It's a portable refrigerant model that's relatively inexpensive, making it a common choice for people with caravans or who need a mobile dehumidifier. On the flip side, its small capacity means you'll need to empty it often.

With a capacity of 10 litres per day, the DEM10 is designed for one or two rooms rather than whole house dehumidifying. While it's not the fastest at removing water from a room, it's not slow either. It also has a low noise output of 38dB.

The DEM10 is relatively light at just 8.8kg. This makes it suitable for moving around your home. The small 2 litre water tank could be an issue, although it comes with a continuous drainage option if you're willing to use a hose.

A downside to the DEM10 is that it's not on wheels. There are carry handles integrated into the machine, but for a portable model we would have liked to have seen castors. It's also not great at removing water from cooler rooms - we wouldn't recommend it for garages or unheated interiors.

The Delonghi DEM10 didn't make our list of the best dehumidifiers, but it's not a bad option if you need a compact model. It's lightweight (for a refrigerant model) and easy to move, although the small capacity is something to watch out for. It's also one of the best Delonghi dehumidifiers on the market.

Pros

  • Compact and relatively lightweight for a refrigerant dehumidifier
  • Reasonably fast water extraction

Cons

  • No castors
  • Small water tank
  • Ineffective in cold weather

Specification

  • Type: Refrigerant
  • Noise: 38dB
  • Tank: 2 litres
  • Power: 190W
  • Max Extraction: 10 litres/day
  • Price: £ - Budget

Delonghi DNC65

Delonghi DNC65

The DNC65 - or the Delonghi Tasciugo AriaDry Light DNC65 to give its full name - is probably the best Delonghi dehumidifier on the market at the moment. It's a desiccant machine, meaning it works best in lower temperatures. It's also highly efficient at removing moisture from the air.

In ideal conditions, the DNC65 is capable of extracting 18 litres per day from the air. This is relatively high, so it's suitable dehumidifying areas up to 75 cubic metres.

Like most desiccant dehumidifies, it's lightweight at just 6kg. This makes it easy to move around the home. Its 2 litre tank capacity is quite small for a machine that's built for dehumidifying large areas, although there is an optional continuous drainage system. If you're going to use it to dry clothes, however, then it might be frustrating to need to empty it regularly.

Other features include a clothes drying function, ioniser and two fan speeds. It's also a quiet dehumidifier, with a maximum noise level of 44dB. On its lowest setting the noise drops to 34dB.

We think the Delonghi DNC65 is an excellent dehumidifier. It's quick to remove moisture from the air - even in cold conditions. It's also easy to use and quiet on its lowest setting. While its around double the price of the DEC10, it's a much better option for dehumidifying larger rooms or in cooler environments.

Pros

  • Excellent water extraction rate in cool conditions
  • Lightweight design
  • Quiet on its low setting

Cons

  • Small water tank
  • Could be more energy efficient

Specification

  • Type: Desiccant
  • Noise: 44dB
  • Tank: 2 litres
  • Power: 520W
  • Max Extraction: 18 litres/day
  • Price: ££ - Mid-Range

Delonghi DES12

Delonghi DES12

Another popular Delonghi refrigerant dehumidifier is the DES12. This machine is capable of extracting up to 12 litres per day in ideal conditions. It's also built to be portable, with a popup carry handle, wheels and (relatively) lightweight 9kg design.

The DES12 has a three litre water tank. There are bigger options available but it won't need to be emptied too regularly (although it will fill up fast when drying clothes).

An interesting feature is Delonghi's bilateral airflow system. As you can see from the photo above, the vents are placed on both sides of the machine. This increases airflow and allows you to place the dehumidifier closer to a wall.

Other features include a panel to view water levels, so you can quickly see when it needs to be emptied, and automatic shut-off when it's full. An ion filter also prevents bacteria spreading around your home. It's probably a bit noisy to use in a bedroom overnight though.

If you're looking for a mid-range Delonghi dehumidifier, the DES12 is a great choice. Its space-saving design allows you to place it near a wall and it's great at extracting water in warmer environments.

Pros

  • Portable design with handle and wheels
  • Efficient water extraction
  • Reasonably large water tank

Cons

  • Still needs to be placed slightly apart from wall
  • Water tank is sometimes difficult to replace

Specification

  • Type: Refrigerant
  • Noise: 42dB
  • Tank: 3 litres
  • Power: 180W
  • Max Extraction: 12 litres/day
  • Price: £ - Mid-Range

Delonghi DEX12

Delonghi DEX12

The Delonghi DEX12 dehumidifier is a refrigerant model with a capacity of 12 litres per day. It's part of the AriaDry range, which is designed to improve energy efficiency. The model is also one of the newest dehumidifiers in the Delonghi range.

Like most Delonghi dehumidifiers, the DEX12 has a relatively small water tank. It's able to hold up to 2.1 litres of water, so you'll need to empty it regularly if used in a damp environment. There is a full-tank indicator to quickly see when it needs to be emptied.

One of the great things about the DEX12 is that it's highly energy efficient. This means it isn't as expensive to run - a vital consideration if you plan to use the dehumidifier for extended periods. It's also an easy-to-use machine with a convenient carrying handle.

Other features include a continuous drainage option, relatively lightweight design for a refrigerant and a frost control function. It doesn't come with wheels, which is a shame, but the handle makes it simple to move between rooms. You should also be aware that it's much more efficient in warmer environments than cool.

The Delonghi DEX12 dehumidifier is an excellent choice if you're looking for an energy-efficient model. It's also effective at removing moisture from the air in warmer conditions, although it isn't suitable for garages or other unheated areas.

Pros

  • Energy efficient to save money on electricity bills
  • Easy to use and stylish design

Cons

  • No wheels
  • Small water tank
  • Ineffective in cold weather

Specification

  • Type: Refrigerant
  • Noise: 37dB
  • Tank: 2.1 litres
  • Power: 210W
  • Max Extraction: 12 litres/day
  • Price: ££ - Mid-Range

Summary

Delonghi produce some excellent dehumidifiers for very reasonable prices. The company offers a range of models, including desiccant and refrigerant options. While we think their machines are often let down by small water tanks, in many cases this is a trade-off for improved portability.

We think the best Delonghi dehumidifier is the DNC65. This is a relatively high capacity model that provides great value for money. It's also lightweight and quiet due to its desiccant technology. If you're looking for a portable dehumidifier with a high capacity and quiet operation, it's a great option.
